Board and classes
Check which board the school follows, CBSE or ICSE, and that it is affiliated up to Class XII, so your daughter does not have to move after Class X. Ask which classes the girls' section actually covers.
Getting to school and back
Ask about bus routes near your home, whether a staff member travels on each bus, pickup and drop timings, and how the school tells you if a bus is late. Ask what happens at the gate at dismissal: who checks who collects each child.
Safety on campus
Ask whether entry is controlled, whether there is a female staff member on duty through the day, and how the school handles a girl who feels unwell. Look at the toilets and the medical room yourself.
Labs and streams for the senior years
Many girls choose Science with Biology or Mathematics, Commerce or Humanities in Class XI. Check that the stream your daughter wants is actually running, and see the labs during a school day.
A voice, not just marks
A good girls' school gives girls the stage: debates, sport, house captaincies and leadership roles. Ask what girls in Class IX to XII actually lead.
